I know a lot of you gentlemen can’t wait for Thanksgiving, and it doesn’t have to do with green bean casserole. Football is a big draw for the last Thursday in November. The whole weekend should have plenty of games occurring, both college and professional football – and maybe a little “backyard” football, too. History.com has some videos and information about the traditions of football on Thanksgiving, so maybe while you’re waiting on the bird to get out of the oven, or a game to start, you could catch up on some football info. Are you excited about the games scheduled? Who are you rooting for?

indian cornFrom menus to place card settings, Martha has a bevy of ideas to put into place before Thanksgiving. I am looking over the suggestions now so I can get my shopping list ready for the big day. I’ll be in charge of baking some kind of pie, but in the mean time, decorations and displays can go up around the apartment now. A sheaf of wheat there, or some Indian corn there, and we’re just getting started.

Did you see any suggestions from Martha that you’d like to try? How about actually using those sweet gum burrs from outside?
